Scholarships 49th Annual Big Deep South Convention
The Big Deep South Convention is funded primarily through registration fees, plus contributions from groups of the Greater New Orleans Area and contributions from individual members of Alcoholics Anonymous.
One of the most common misconceptions of gatherings as this is that these assemblies are A.A. meetings. Conventions and conferences, pursuant to G.S.O. Guidelines, are special events. Attendance is voluntary and as responsible members “we pay our own way.” Therefore, a very limited number of scholarships will be available.
All recipients of scholarships, half or whole, are required to donate four (4) hours of time to one of the committees during the convention.
Your cooperation and understanding in this matter will help make a successful and sober experience for all who attend our conference.
It is not our intention to deny any individual admittance to the convention. However, the number of scholarships given in the past has caused financial hardship to the budget, thereby hurting the convention as a whole.
Scholarships will be given out on a “first come, first serve basis”, so we suggest that you submit your request early to ensure consideration by the committee.
